The Opportunity:

We are excited to currently be recruiting for a Financial Crime apprentice to join us on a 15-month Fixed Term Contract basis at our Head Office in Bristol. This is a development post and as such requires attendance for online lectures and learning via our apprenticeship provider. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about taking their first steps on the path to a career in Risk and Financial services as part of a friendly and high performing team. As a Financial Crime apprentice, you will support the Financial Crime Risk Management team in delivering a first-class service to our customers whilst effectively managing risk, and will collaborate and support in several areas including:

  • Financial Crime Risk Management
  • Transaction Monitoring
  • Customer Due Diligence
  • Fraud
  • Change Management
  • Forums and committee secretarial duties
  • Analysis/Production of Management Information

You will perform this role effectively by ensuring that you can understand and apply core elements of TBUK risk, customer and business objectives. There will be opportunities to collaborate with other placement co-workers from around the business on project work which will directly benefit the TBUK business & support your own personal development.

This role also offers the benefits of flexible hybrid working with a blend of office and working from home, typically, this would require 1-2 days in our Bristol office per week with a choice of working from home on the other days (following an initial induction period).

What we are looking for:

To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about building and gaining experience of working in Banking and Risk, and will have strong numeracy, organisational and analytical skills.

A diverse thinker with an adaptable and flexible approach, you will have the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders and will be a supportive team player.

This opportunity involves enrolling on a Level 3 Compliance and Risk officer apprenticeship via our provider BPP, GCSE Maths & English qualifications are required to enrol on this course grade A-C (9-4 on the new grading system).

Our desired start date will be by the end of June 2024, and we will require the candidate to enrol on the course prior to the 10th of June (we will support you with this enrolment process), the course starts in July 2024.
