Finance Business Partner - Organisational Expenditure

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Salary: £56,650 per annum

Location: This role is Hybrid Variable, with 2 or 3 days a week in the Bristol office.

About the role 

This role is responsible for providing dedicated financial support and advice to all areas of the organisation that are not income generating. This includes support for the Services, Corporate and our Policy, Communications and Voice directorates to ensure the continued optimisation of charity resources.

The role holder will deliver accurate forecasts of and insightful explanations of financial performance whilst ensuring the appropriate level of expenditure by each directorate and supporting each directorate in delivering their forecast expenditure.

As well as supporting stakeholders with financial planning, analysis and business cases, the role will provide strong business partnering to stakeholders to develop and implement improved management information and business insight that will enable accurate and timely decision making.

The role is a key link between the various directorates, Finance and the wider Corporate Services directorate.

• Work with the budget holders in preparing budgets, forecasts and longer term outlooks, ensuring budgeted / forecast costs are underpinned by robust assumptions/ KPIs and link to the overall strategy.
• Embed yourself within the various directorate leadership teams to ensure viewed as part of the team(s) and a valuable team member.
• Ensure the overall monthly financials are accurate and well communicated to teams.
• Build strong relationships within the Finance team and act as a single point of contact, connecting managers to relevant experts within Finance as the need arises.
• Forecast the expected expenditure for each Restricted and Designated fund for each budget and forecast; and provide the detail of costs incurred each month to the Financial Accountant.

This role is part home, part office/ site based. You will have the opportunity to work remotely / from home within the parameters of our hybrid variable working arrangements, with 2 or 3 days a week in the office.

This role is subject to a Basic Criminal Record Check. In the event of a successful application a Disclosure report will be sought.

We would love to hear from you if you have: 

• Demonstrated proficiency through substantial experience in functionally related activities or evidenced equivalent.
• Responsibility for the preparation of budgets and forecasts for multiple departments and stakeholders, the subsequent explanation of financial performance and supporting the stakeholders in achieving of the budget or forecast.
• Experience of business partnering with non-Finance people.
• A qualified accountant.
• Advanced Excel capability and strong in the use of other Microsoft Office applications.
