Bristol Register Office is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our busy and experienced registration team, as a part-time secondment.
Based in the heart of the old city and on a rota basis at our Southmead Hospital office, you will register births, deaths and still births, and take notices of marriage and civil partnerships in accordance with statutory legislation.
You will conduct and register marriages, civil partnerships and citizenships in accordance with registration law and regulation, at our prestigious Grade II* listed Corn Street office as well as at the various licensed venues located across the city of Bristol.
In addition to this, you will perform a variety of administrative duties including producing historical certificates and using and maintaining the office diary appointment system.
The roles are customer-focused, so successful candidates must demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and enjoy working with the public. You will be self–reliant, as well as a great team player. A meticulous care for detail and accuracy is required, as you will be assisting citizens from many diverse backgrounds and cultures at key emotional stages of their lives.
You will have 5 GCSEs including Maths and English language at Grade C / 4 or above, or relevant demonstrable work experience, as well as administration skills preferably gained in a busy customer facing environment.
The standard working week is Monday to Friday; however you will be asked to work occasional Wednesday evenings on a rota basis. Some Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday work may also be required.
If you posses the skills we are looking for but do not have registration experience, you will be fully trained and supported by our friendly and expert team.
