Cleeve Hill is a small home in the heart of Downend and is home to 5 individuals who are supported to lead purposeful and fulfilling lives. The individuals at Cleeve Hill have a dual diagnosis of learning difficulties and mental health difficulties. Therefore, staff work closely with the person to ensure all aspects of their needs are met to supporting peoples mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

As Support Worker you will be required to support individuals to engage with various aspects of their lives and activities of their choosing. Activities and duties will include things such as supporting individuals to engage in community activities such as shopping or day trips; engaging in recreational activities within the home; aiding with life skills and supporting individuals to learn new skills. At Cleeve Hill we are led by the individual’s who live here and it is our role to ensure their safety while supporting various aspects of their lives.

Working within the small team at Cleeve Hill you will also be a significant contributor to creating a homely environment for the people we support to live in.

Please note - it is an essential requirement of this role that you hold a full, clean, UK driving licence and are able to drive a service vehicle.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To encourage and enable service users to make day-to-day choices and major life decisions, signposting as appropriate, and to develop a positive self-image and maintain good health.
  • To support service users to develop relationships, including intimate relationships and to maintain contact with family and friends.
  • To provide service users with the agreed necessary support to maximise their independence and to develop social and life skills.
  • To support people to manage change and lead their own support where possible. 

The successful Support Worker will:

  • Have good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, service users and a range of stakeholders.
  • Have good team working skills and the ability to lone work
  • Have a caring manner, good sense of humour and a tolerant nature
  • Engage in organisational changes and practice person centred practices at all times
  • Previous experience in the care sector is desirable but not essential.
  • It is an essential requirement of this role that you hold a full, clean UK driving licence 

This role is open to full and part-time applications with various hours including Earlies, Lates, and 1:1 hours. Please contact the home directly to discuss the shift specifics.
