Job Requirements/Description

Salary: Under 18 years are paid £9.60 per hour, £15,017.18 per annum for a 30 hour week; 18 years and over are paid £12 per hour, £18,771.48 per annum for a 30 hour week.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Fleet Services team. You will learn how to service vehicles such as cars, vans, and plant, and carry out routine maintenance. You will be involved in diagnosing faults and repairing them while studying for an apprenticeship in Auto-care level 2.

This Apprenticeship involves working on vehicles and using all the latest diagnostic equipment and technology. We will teach you to diagnose faults and repair them, how to service vehicles and carry out routine maintenance.

Duties may include:

  • Servicing vehicles - carrying out checks and maintenance according to the manufacturers’ guidelines.
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components.
  • Advising the customers or the service department about required repairs.
  • Producing time estimates.
  • Maintaining repair and service records.

This is a level 2 (GCSE) Intermediate programme with S&B Automative Academy based in Bedminster, Bristol.

Applying for an apprenticeship

To apply for an adult apprenticeship you must be aged 16 years or over, at the start of employment. 

You will need qualifications in English and Maths GCSE grade C / level 4 or above, or functional skills level 2. Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End-Point Assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeship’s English and maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3. A British Sign Language (BSL) qualification is an alternative to the English qualification for those whose primary language is BSL.
