Job Requirements/Description

Hours: Full time or part time hours available (Up to 37 hours per week). Weekend, early evening and night shifts available only. Flexible working patterns considered.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is eager to enable clients with complex needs to move towards recovery. As a Support Worker in our High Support Accommodation Service you will work in a psychologically and trauma informed way, be values led and looking to grow both personally and professionally.

The role

The aim of a Support Worker is to deliver person-centred support to clients who are on a journey to recovery and who live in our High Support Accommodation. Working in a psychologically, adversity and trauma informed way, this includes:

  • Holding a caseload of clients who you meet 1:1 at least weekly
  • Developing and facilitating groups and activities for clients
  • Developing support plans and working creatively with clients to support them to meet their goals
  • Maintaining detailed case notes
  • Helping clients to develop skills to move towards independent living
  • Helping clients to maximise their income
  • Championing hope and courage
  • Responding to incidents and ensuring dligigent reporting
  • Promoting the safety and wellbeing of clients

About our accommodation-based services

Second Step provides a variety of accommodation-based services as part of the Bristol City Council commissioned Pathways, as well as multiple other housing related services. Currently accommodation-based services are located in Bristol, however, Second Step has services throughout the South West.
