Commercial Development Officer

At Bristol City Council, we are dedicated to preserving and enhancing our city's parks and green spaces. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we are looking for a Parks Commercial Development Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving our commercial initiatives forward, ensuring our parks not only thrive but also contribute to their own maintenance through innovative revenue streams. 

Your Role:

As the Parks Commercial Development Officer, you will be central to our efforts to generate commercial income across our parks. You will support a diverse range of businesses and income-generating projects, from our in-house plant nursery to the cemetery and crematoria services. Your work will involve increasing turnover and profitability for these in-house ventures through small events and supporting the marketing team in resource development.

You will also collaborate with third-party organizations and businesses, bringing in new opportunities to generate income in our parks and optimizing existing partnerships. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that all commercial activities align with our sustainability goals and community values. 

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record of increasing income within a business or supporting external businesses. Strong presentation and negotiation skills are essential, as well as the ability to use data to inform decision-making. We are looking for a creative individual with solid business acumen who can drive innovative commercial projects forward.

Location and Working Environment:

While your base will be at our 100 Temple Street office, you'll mainly be working across our parks and business units across the city. While the role is office-based, we offer flexible hybrid working arrangements to suit your needs.
