Cleaning Operative – Speculative
Purpose of the role:
We regularly have exciting opportunities to join the Facilities Management division of Bristol Waste Company as a Cleaning Operative.
With a keen eye for detail, you’ll take pride in your work as you maintain the cleanliness of the buildings through various cleaning duties. Training will be provided to become proficient in appropriate cleaning methods, such as the use of cleaning equipment and best cleaning practices, following health & safety and use of personal protective equipment which is provided.
Due to the nature of the role, you’ll regularly carry out physical activities which would include sweeping and mopping floors, wiping surfaces, vacuuming, using cleaning chemicals, moving furniture, emptying bins, general tidying of kitchen areas, toilets, showers, corridors, meeting rooms, break-out areas, staircases, and reception areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors of various types in designated areas to high standards
- Sanitising toilets, sinks, and fixtures
- Dusting and polishing
- Empty waste bins and replace bin liners
- Stock and maintain cleaning cupboards
- Use of cleaning machinery
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures that are related to carrying out cleaning tasks
- Able to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision
- Identifying and reporting all safety equipment maintenance issues to the Team Leader
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors of various types in designated areas to high standards
