Bristol Educational Psychology Service is an innovative and values-based service which has undergone significant growth and development in response to an increased demand for our services. We are looking for motivated and creative Associate Educational Psychologists who are keen to work in a thriving, diverse, and multi-cultural city.

EPs in Bristol apply psychology to promote inclusion for all children and young people across the city. Our core values of equal opportunities and person-centred practice run through all our work. Our service is based within the Education and Skills directorate, and we work closely alongside colleagues in the Bristol Autism Team, the Hope Virtual School, and the Early Years team.

In addition to a core statutory commission, we have an established and expanding traded offer. EPs have the opportunity to work on areas of interest, in the many areas of specialism work available which is commissioned by the LA, DfE, and schools. We are an integral part of city-wide initiatives to promote emotional wellbeing and deliver ELSA training and DfE accredited Senior Mental Health Lead training. We offer a range of therapeutic work to schools, including ACT and VIG, and deliver MeLSA (Mediating Learning Support Assistant) training.

We value autonomy and promote shared leadership across the team. Being a city-based service, we are a well-connected supportive team who frequently come together for work and social gatherings. We have strong links with universities and offer valued Trainee EP placements in all three years of training.

In Bristol, you will benefit from our ad hoc supervision for complex cases and guidance around Bristol’s SEND processes and you will be invited to join all Service CPD Days. A comprehensive induction session will be provided, alongside a laptop and excellent ICT to support flexible working.

If you are a self-motivated, innovative, reflective and committed professional, with a good understanding of the opportunities for educational psychology in the present climate we would like to hear from you. We welcome applications from experienced EPs and trainee EPs in their final year of training.
