About the role

Join NFU Mutual on a 12 month fixed term contract in a brand-new role as a Loss Control Desktop Surveyor and play a pivotal part in safeguarding our domestic, bespoke, and commercial customers against potential risks. Utilising a pre-defined framework, you'll conduct comprehensive desktop surveys, providing technical insights to identify property and liability risks. Your evaluations will empower our Underwriting team to make informed decisions within our risk appetite, ensuring timely processing of insurance cases.

Crafting detailed desktop review reports will be your forte, amalgamating customer risk information and external data to offer Underwriters a clear assessment of risk levels. By adhering to defined systems and processes, you'll streamline the decision-making process for insurance quotes, renewals, or declinations. Collaborating closely with Loss Control Surveyors, you'll leverage collective expertise to capture and quantify risks effectively, supporting Underwriters and Agents while sharing insights on potential hazards and risk mitigation strategies.

Efficiency and excellence will define your approach as you manage and prioritize your workload to meet agreed timelines. Whether scheduling reviews for yourself or the regional Loss Control Team, you'll ensure optimal service delivery, meeting customer expectations with a professional booking service. By staying abreast of evolving guidance and technologies, you'll uphold the highest standards of advice, while also educating customers on risk-specific guidance to enhance their risk profiles. Your proactive follow-up on risk improvements and recommendations will ensure our systems remain updated, providing Underwriting with current and relevant information for informed decision-making.

About you

You’ll be a confident self-starter with exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You’ll have a knack for influencing and negotiating with excellent organisational skills which will be evidenced in the way you are able to prioritise tasks a utilise systems to deliver high-quality surveys to support our Loss Control Surveyors.

You’ll also;

  1. Be able to evidence the ability to identify risk management decisions
  2. Have previous experience in insurance, underwriting, claims, or surveying (desirable)
  3. A full valid UK Driving Licence is essential for this role
