Overview:

This is a Degree Level Apprenticeship.

You will own all Technology and Recruitment Technology support and new projects including maintaining relationship with our external IT support company.

You will work closely with our team to understand what software and tools might be useful for them to perform better in their role both strategically and with high efficiency.

Main role / Responsibilities [will include but not be limited to]: 

  • Troubleshooting Technical Issues: Assist employees with resolving hardware, software, and network-related problems they encounter and provide prompt and courteous responses to IT help desk requests, either via phone, email, or ticketing system. 
  • Hardware and Software Setup: Assist in the setup and configuration of new computers, printers, and other hardware devices. Install and configure software applications as needed. 
  • User Account Management: Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts in various systems and applications. Ensure proper access permissions are maintained.
  • Basic Network Support: Help maintain and troubleshoot network connectivity issues, such as Wi-Fi connectivity, network printer problems, and basic network configuration tasks. Assist in monitoring systems and networks using remote monitoring tools, and alert the appropriate personnel when issues arise.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Base: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of IT documentation and knowledge base articles for common issues and solutions.
  • Software Updates and Patch Management: Assist in managing software updates and patches on computers to ensure security and performance improvements.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of IT equipment inventory, including computers, peripherals, and software licenses. Assist with equipment procurement when needed. Assist in liaising with IT vendors and service providers for equipment repairs, warranty claims, and technical support. 
  • IT Training and Workshops: Contribute to IT training sessions and workshops for employees to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.

What we are looking for: 

Desirable skills: 

  • Basic Technical Support Experience: Prior experience in providing technical support, even at a personal level, can be valuable. 
  • Customer-Facing Experience: Experience in a customer service role, whether in-person or remotely, can help develop communication and empathy skills. 
  • Basic Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with networking concepts, such as IP addresses, subnetting, and basic troubleshooting, is beneficial.
  • Operating Systems Familiarity: Some exposure to various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and their basic functions. 

Personal qualities: 

  • It is imperative that you have a keen interest in IT, Technology and have a commercial understanding of what software can lead to cash creation quicker, by taking the time to understand the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently with a high level of accountability.
  • Positive and motivating, with the ability to inspire others

Entry requirements

A Level 3 qualification in a relevant area in any grade. Acceptable qualifications include: 

  • Two A levels in one or more similar subject.*
  • Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject.
  • International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in a similar subject.
  • BTEC Extended Diploma in a similar subject.
  • A work experience route (2-3 years) in a similar subject-related role.

'Similar subject' relates to areas directly relevant to or commensurate with 'Digital and Technology Solutions'. Typically this would be areas such as but not limited to Level 3 digital apprenticeships, A-Level/BTEC Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Software Engineering, etc.

Please note: Learners must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject.
