Job Requirements/Description

Are you ambitious, motivated and keen to pursue a career where you can help accelerate the delivery of affordable housing?

We are looking for someone to join the Strategy & Enabling team to help support the Council's ambition to work with partners, local communities, and developers to deliver 1000 affordable homes in 2024 and sustain the momentum going forward.

Our ideal candidate will be organised, a good communicator who conducts themself in a professional manner and comfortable working as part of the Housing Delivery Team.

If you have some understanding about the delivery of affordable housing from either a Local Government, Registered Provider, Developer or Community Led Housing setting, that is a great foundation, although applicants that can demonstrate some insight regarding the residential development process, useful transferable skills and a willingness to learn and develop are also welcome to apply.

Good communication skills and confidence are important as you may be involved in work with local community projects supporting community led housing, as well as gaining professional confidence negotiating with private developers or Registered Providers.

You will support the promotion and enabling of affordable housing projects from inception through to completion to meet the local housing need and act as the link between Housing Providers, Development Management, Highways and legal teams to accelerate housing delivery.

We would also like the you to demonstrate good attention to detail as we collect and analyse relevant housing data on housing need, house prices, track affordable housing delivery and scrutinise legal agreements. Some project management experience would also be an advantage.
