Communications Industrial Placement

Love communications and storytelling? This is a fantastic opportunity to flex your planning, writing and content creation skills with the Communications Team at Unite Students.

If you want to learn more about internal communications, media relations, stakeholder management, customer communications and social media in a fast-paced environment, then this might be the role for you!

You`ll join us at an exciting time as we support the business through a period of change as we invest in our homes and embed several new IT systems.

The successful applicant will spend their time in all the disciplines within the team which will flex depending on need.

What You`ll Be Doing

• Take ownership of the communications calendar
• Research key dates and events e.g. awareness days, political activity etc.
• Take part in projects and team meetings
• Help create and deliver content to a wide range of key stakeholders.

Internal Communications

• Support the internal team in delivering activities to inform and involve our colleagues
• Help with event managing internal meetings e.g. manager briefings and town halls etc.
• Help with campaigns to support our goal of being a great place to work.

External Communications

• Support the external team in enhancing and protecting the reputation of the business
• Help with the creation and delivery of communications to key stakeholders
• Help with media and stakeholder relations to show that we are a great place to invest
• Help with the creation of social media campaigns.

Customer Communications

• Support the customer communications team to inform and engage our residents
• Help with the creation and delivery of key communications
• Help support our goal of creating great places to live.

What We`re Looking for in You

• Working towards a degree in communications or other related subjects
• Interested in all aspects of communications and social media
• Enjoy planning and writing content
• Curious, and comfortable asking questions to understand issues in other areas of the business
• Be self-reliant, eager to learn and enjoy solving problems
• Interested in new developments and practices within communications including the role of AI.
