We are recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced individual to help the council ensure positive approaches to the historic environment are embedded in place-based projects. This will include enhancing the award winning Know Your Place resource to ensure that information about Bristol’s heritage is widely accessible to help support quality placemaking.
The Historic Environment role is part of the Urban Design Team, within the Planning Service. This role would suit a professional with experience of Geographic Information Systems, archaeology, public history and the role of heritage in the planning system. You will contribute to the City Council’s positive strategy for the historic environment that will benefit communities, their heritage and the prosperity of the city.
Key elements of the role will be to:
Work in partnership with colleagues and external stakeholders to promote and maximise the benefits of the historic environment within a holistic place-based approach to growth and regeneration.
