The team uses the latest marketing technologies, coupled with agile processes and ever-increasing access to data, to drive world class customer communication strategies to help our members on the journey to lower carbon. 

This role in a nutshell:

Reporting to the Senior Data Strategist, the role of the Data Strategist is to ensure that we can leverage data to address current and future marketing and service challenges. This includes using customer and prospect data, online and offline data, current data to help drive the marketing strategies and a flexible approach to data we may need in the future. The role requires the individual to see the bigger picture across data content, data management, reporting/analytics and marketing systems and to be a passionate exponent of the power of data to drive marketing performance with a clear appreciation of modern Marketing strategies and ways of working. 

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing Communications team and other Retail colleagues to deliver an agreed data strategy and commercial objectives.
  • Liaise with various marketing and product stakeholders on campaign requirements  
  • interrogating and understand their needs to be able to clearly identify the underlying data required to support them
  • Monitor and review Marketing data health and quality status. Determine and agree with stakeholders the most appropriate metrics against which we will measure success
  • Support delivery of reporting requirements building the appropriate dashboards and reports to monitor the performance of all our comms.
  • Where connections to data do not exist, carry out the work required to extend our marketing data sets 
  • At all times ensure that we are GDPR complaint

You’ll be a successful Marketing Data Analyst here at OVO if you have…

  • Proficiency in using SQL - this is a must! Other languages such as Python and R would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of marketing customer acquisition, cross sell and retention techniques.
  • Understanding of marketing data management techniques
  • Knowledge of marketing testing approaches
  • Knowledge of data and system security principles
  • Data governance excellence
  • Detailed knowledge of GDPR legislation impact on marketing
  • Agile methodologies for delivery
  • Marketing database skills including data enhancement and quality improvement experience
  • Segmentation and propensity modelling
  • Applied statistics skills - statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Understanding of Marketing automation concepts
  • Integration of digital data and tools e.g. Google Analytics

We’ll pay you between £50,000 and £55,000 depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
