IT Support Engineer

As an IT Support Engineer at Rovco, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional technical support to our internal stakeholders. Reporting to our IT Manager in Bristol you will be joining an IT Support team of 4; You will be the first point of contact for IT-related issues and will provide prompt and effective solutions to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity for users in a hybrid environment. We’ll welcome your ideas & input and support your development.

  • Proven experience as a 1st/2nd Line Support Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows device management including Active Directory
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other common business applications.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Customer-oriented with a patient and positive attitude.
  • Willingness to travel and visit vessels as required for mobilization (Average of once every 6 weeks, national and international travel required).
  • Ability to work independently to resolve issues.
  • Good understanding of escalation procedures.

Grow together with Vaarst where you will learn and use the following:

  • Knowledge of Ubuntu operating system management.
  • Experience working in a small team environment with fast-paced requirements.
  • Knowledge of supporting Virtualisation and VDI technologies.
  • Specific knowledge of the following software tools: Microsoft Intune, NinjaOne RMM, ConnectWise, Freshservice.
  • Experience supporting Hybrid users in a work-from-home environment.
  • Knowledge of scripting environments (PowerShell and Bash).
