The RSPB exists to advance the conservation of birds, other wildlife and the natural world, by protecting and restoring habitats, saving species, sharing knowledge and connecting people to nature.

We’re proud of everything we’ve achieved in the past decade, but we know that the years between now and 2030 will be critical in addressing the nature and climate emergency. The RSPB has a vital role to play in this work, both through our conservation work in the UK and around the world, and through inspiring and enabling many more, and more diverse people, to act to protect and restore birds and nature.

RSPB 2030 sets out our strategic ambition for this decade. With some 160,000 hectares of land under our management across the four countries of the UK, our work around the globe, our leading role in Birdlife International, more than 2,000 staff and 12,000 volunteers and an annual income of over £150m, we stand ready to make our fullest contribution to resolving the nature and climate emergency.

Reporting to the CEO, this role of Executive Director, Income and Conservation Investment is a pivotal role in our organisation and represents an extraordinary opportunity for an inclusive leader who wants to make a lasting, positive impact on the natural world now and for future generations. We are looking for an exceptional leader to oversee a broad portfolio that includes all our fundraising activities, our membership and our commercial operations, our engagement with high value partners and with business and also our conservation investment team. As a member of the Executive Board, this is a vital role in ensuring that we have the resources and partnerships to deliver the RSPB’s mission as well as leading and developing some of our most innovative new investment initiatives. It will require working effectively across the organisation to help make our vision for a nature positive world by 2030 a reality and building relationships with key external supporters of our work.
