Job Requirements/Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Women and Children’s Division for a neonatal practitioner to join the Divisional Continuous Learning and Improvement Team on a permanent basis. This role will support routine Divisional Governance requirements and help us to achieve evolving priorities of the Division and national safety agenda. We are looking for someone who is passionate about patient safety and continuous quality improvement for the role. Within this position, the post holder will work within the current established Continuous Improvement and Learning Team, further developing robust systems and processes to implement learning.

Southmead Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has 34 cots, comprising of 8 ITU, 8 HDU, 18 SC and an additional 10 cots on Transitional Care. We are a well established Level 3 unit and tertiary referral centre, providing a centre of excellence for babies born as premature as 22 weeks gestation. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide expert advice in relation to the management, reporting, investigation and follow up of adverse clinical incidents within the Neonatal setting. They will work in collaboration with the multi disciplinary team to develop robust, meaningful recommendations and identify actions for learning from incidents.
