Apprentice Autocare Technician

Location: Brislington Transport Depot Bath Road / Sandy Park Road Bristol BS4 3NZ

Salary: Under 18 years are paid £9.60ph, £15,017.18 pa for a 30 hour week; 18 years and over are paid £12 ph, £18,771.48 pa for a 30 hour week.

An Autocare Technician carries out services and repairs to a range of vehicles. If you are keen on problem solving, this will be a great role for you!

As an apprentice you will learn all the skills to become a top Autocare Technician with a fantastic range of future career options ahead of you. You will use a range of tools, measuring and diagnostic equipment to identify and repair simple system faults.

Duties include:

• Find and diagnose faults using hand tools or a computer
• Advise customers on what repairs are needed
• Estimate time and costs for jobs
• Road test vehicles to check repairs
• Tyre fitting
• Repairs to exhausts, batteries, brakes, and servicing

This is a level 2 (GCSE) Intermediate programme with S&B Automative Academy based in Bedminster, Bristol.

Applying for an apprenticeship?

To apply for an adult apprenticeship you must be aged 16 years or over, at the start of employment. 

You will need qualifications in English and Maths GCSE grade C / level 4 or above, or functional skills level 2. Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End-Point Assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeship’s English and maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3. A British Sign Language (BSL) qualification is an alternative to the English qualification for those whose primary language is BSL.
