Lawyer

We are looking for two qualified lawyers with experience of a breadth of adult community care and litigation work and education work ideally within a local authority setting. The successful candidates must be professional and have an organised approach to their work.

You will be responsible for your own Court of Protection case load and have a variety of Judicial Review cases. You will provide advice and guidance to the local authority in respect of education and/or adult community care.

We are looking for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives or equivalent relevant qualification, ideally within the public sector.

You will be familiar with (including related topics): Court of Protection proceedings, Judicial Review, Ordinary residence, and the full range of local authority education duties.

You will be experienced in drafting legal documents and legal correspondence, giving specialist legal advice, gathering and analysing information to support actions, filing documents at court and dealing with the administration associated with litigation. 

You will be competent at legal research and comfortable dealing directly with clients, solicitors, barristers and court personnel. 

You will be flexible, able to work under pressure, manage competing deadlines and work as part of a team and on their own initiative.
