Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Job in Wiltshire


Newly created permanent vacancy for an experienced Electrical/Mechanical Engineer job based in Wiltshire. Working for a Global Communications Provider, you will support the operation on a rotational 6-2/2-10 shift basis. Responsible for all routine and emergency servicing on specialist manufacturing and installation equipment across the site. To manage and maintain all process equipment and facilities will form the key job factors, supporting the wider management team with best solution outcomes in order to maintain optimum production output levels at all times.


Key responsibilities will include the maintenance of key production equipment, handling machine breakdowns, providing predictive maintenance tasks, the overall equipment effectiveness improvements programme to reduce MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) and increase MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures). You will need to maintain daily break down logs detailing hours lost and repairs completed, and produce reports on a weekly basis, to ensure that all production equipment is maintained to the highest standards.

This role requires the individual to be able to communicate well with all key stakeholders and company staff, consistently presenting a professional, courteous, intelligent persona while under pressure and be able deputise for the Maintenance/Facilities Manager.


Ideally educated to NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrical Engineering or Time Served Maintenance Apprenticeship (or similar) with a Sound Knowledge of Plant and Production Process machinery maintenance , combined with a strong Electronics & Mechanical Maintenance background. Qualified electrician to 17th Edition stage.

Demonstrable knowledge of PLC (A PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER) /Auto-motion controls, PID controllers and Air Logic systems, plus engineering knowhow when regulating temperature, flow, pressure, speed, and other process variables. You will have a robust understanding of Microsoft Suite - Word and Excel skills with knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC Programming and Computerised Maintenance Management Software (CMMS). Knowledge of the following is a distinct advantageous Company Environmental, Health and Safety policies, EHS Standards & Protocols, ISO 9001 QA System and Company Preventative Maintenance programmes.
