Applications Engineer

Full time, permanent

Remote - home office base, with frequent travel.

Brooks Automation is seeking an Applications Engineer, Wafer Handling to support our UK and Nordic regions. This role will be located in the M4 Corridor, England

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

* Uses in-depth knowledge of wafer-handling products to provide pre-sales technical expertise to account team and the customer, through product technical presentations and product demonstrations.

* Prepare detailed product specifications and a plan for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions, with the major objective of customer Design-in-Wins (DIW) for the Brooks' atmospheric & vacuum wafer handling product lines.

* Identifies and prioritises potential customers and applications, with the local account teams and product manager.

* Works with local account teams and product managers to develop and implement a DIW plan; forecasting DIW timing and quantities for each customer.

* Be the master point of contact between Brooks engineering and the DIW customer, supporting the customer through the evaluation and/or integration phase of product/application/solution.

* Be the technical expert for assigned products keeping up to date with regular training with engineering, and attending relevant seminars/conferences.

* Work closely with the Technical Support team, as needed, to confirm correct application use for customer field problems and ensuring the local service teams know what equipment OEMs are receiving and helping the service team to be ready

* Liaison with product engineering to solve tough field problems

* Understand Customers' processes, applications and market.

* May provide consultation to prospective users, both internal and external, and/or product capability assessment and validation

REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor's technical degree with 2+ years' of relevant experience, or Masters technical degree with 1+ years' relevant experience, or its equivalent.

* Previous Service, Applications, and/or Engineering experience in semiconductor and wafer handling products highly desirable. Knowledge of Agile and Oracle a plus. Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word needed.

* Previous experience with teaching and programming semiconductor robots is highly desirable.

* Located in or willing to relocate to the M4 Corridor, England
