The company

This well established, leading food manufacturer which supplies into the major multiples, is currently seeking a Junior Technical Officer to work with their busy and talented team. The company boasts a product range which is varied with an array of bestselling famous brands within their international business.

The job

The company has experienced rapid growth, doubling the size of the business in the last several years with continued growth aspirations for the coming years - this is therefore a fantastic time to join the team.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, in this role you will implement the company standards and train staff to operate to them, whilst continuously striving to improve the standards.

You will also attend NPD trials to create product standards, investigate non-conformances, validate processes and procedures in the food production areas, manage raw material and packaging intake including supplier non-conformances, carry out internal and GMP audits, manage pest control, implement corrective actions, plus implement working practices to comply with BRC and customer codes of practice.

Your experience

You will ideally be educated to a degree level in a food science or food technology related discipline and possess food industry technical or QA experience (either from a university placement or full-time food manufacturing job), preferably working with chilled or dairy products.

You will be passionate about food safety, have knowledge of BRC and quality management systems plus be looking to join a business where you can grow your food technical career.

A driving licence is also required due to site location.

The Junior Technical Officer role is based in the Somerset region and is paying up to £23,000 plus benefits including company contributory pension, optical care, wellbeing tests, childcare vouchers, 25 days holiday + bank holidays and more.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 5.30 pm.
