Wiltshire is a beautiful rural location, less than 90 minutes on the train to London, but great links to cities such as Bristol and Bath.

With an all-round good CQC rating and outstanding for care, the Consultant Community Paediatricians are co -located within the hubs with our public health colleagues, integrated therapy- ( Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists) Speech and Language teams, Community Children's Nursing, Learning Disability Nursing, LAC team and the Safeguarding team.

We provide community paediatric services in the whole of Wiltshire however we are patch based with each consultant working with a team comprising of Associate Specialists and Paediatric Practitioners.

We provide a safeguarding on call rota, jointly with colleagues in BaNES which covers Mendip and parts of North and West Wiltshire. On-call cases are seen at the Royal United Hospital in Bath - this is our local acute district general hospital and we have very close working relationships with our acute paediatric and other colleagues there.

As a Consultant Community Paediatrician, you will provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and on-going care to children, young people and families. The Consultant Community Paediatrician will share all aspects of community paediatric work with colleagues and should have relevant experience in clinical management of children, including those with neurodevelopmental difficulties and also safeguarding children. The Consultant Community Paediatrician will take part in the child protection on-call rota (including participating in the joint agency response for child deaths).

You will have a recognised medical degree, full GMC registration, currently on the specialist register or be within six months of obtaining CCT, MRCPCH/MRCP or equivalent and be able to evidence experience in child protection assessment, involvement of all clinical government aspects including undertaking clinical audits and knowledge of the UK child health systems. You will also have experience of working with conditions such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

We get together regularly, auditing and sharing standard methodology for innovation and service re-design. You'll be a part of the pool of subject matter experts bringing together clinical and operational leads. You will be a part of quality improvements, research and development activity.
