The Role

Our Fleetcare Supervisors guide and support their teams of Maintenance Engineers and Controllers so that our customers' downtime is minimized as much as possible. They ensure costs are kept to a minimum, are allocated to the correct event whilst maintaining a safe, quality and efficient environment for everyone.

You will be the teams' escalation point, conducting 1-2-1's, team briefings and any day to day HR matters relating to your team. You'll lead on ensuring customer requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner and that any challenges are actioned promptly and efficiently which includes any delays around parts or workshop availability.

Other responsibilities include:

* Drive professionalism and customer focused behaviour to ensure our customers' expectations are managed and exceeded.

* Ensure best practices are adhered to at all times whilst maintaining a proactive approach towards compliance and health and safety policies

* Participate in monthly management meetings

* Ensure the continuous development of your team is sustained and actioned to maintain a motivated workforce

* Validation of repair requests to ensure they are required and are only carried out by Ryder workshops or approved dealers

About You

To be successful in this role you must have up-to-date knowledge with standard methodology in a heavy goods vehicle maintenance environment. You'll need to be an excellent negotiator with proven abilities in influencing people. A technical background within Heavy Goods Vehicles is desirable but isn't essential although a genuine interest in HGV's and the mechanics would be required.

Some of the skills and knowledge an effective Supervisor possesses are below:

* Ability to conduct yourself with the highest professionalism at all times, be well presented and articulate

* Self-motivated, accurate and operates at the highest ethical standards and utmost integrity

* Previous experience as a shop floor supervisor is required along with a recognised qualification such as Supervisory/Team Leading ILM Level 3 is advantageous.

* Be computer literate and able to demonstrate an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Window and Office applications

* Ability to transpose and understand financial and technical data

* Ability to adjust style and behaviours appropriately to secure the best outcome

As part of the Ryder team you will be offered a starting salary of £34,000 plus the following benefits:

You'll be working 40 hours per week between Monday and Friday from 8am to 5pm.
