I have a fantastic opportunity available for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to be part of a leading Project and Cost Management Consultancy. As part of their continued success in securing projects throughout the South West of the UK, they are now looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to be part of their Infrastructure & Highways business unit playing a key part in the delivery of commercial services functions for the design of projects and construction using NEC 3/4 contracts. With the potential for rapid career progression for the right candidate. This role provides the opportunity to work on a range of projects up to £200m and to develop the Infrastructure team in the South West.

The Role
• To provide effective delivery of commercial management services regionally across the infrastructure, highways and civil engineering sector.
• To build successful working relationships with local and national highways authority clients
• To provide support to the regional infrastructure management team in the growth of the sector regionally.

• Responsibility, under minimum supervision, as lead QS or NEC3/4 Project Manager for larger, more complex projects relating to highways and infrastructure; including pre and post project controls.
• Preparing Client cost reports and reporting on change during the life of a project.
• Awareness of project costs outside of direct Construction.
• Understanding of Highways Construction technology and methodology alongside how this translates into costs.
• Having leadership skills necessary to direct and manage the support team ensuring the quality and timeliness of service delivery
• Providing guidance and technical advice to different stakeholders, including effectively chairing meetings.
• Have an up-to-date and developing knowledge of legal and technical matters.
• Act as account manager for clients, providing service delivery, demonstrating your role as a key stakeholder and first point of contact.
• Understanding the clients' programme and project objectives.
• Playing an instrumental role in generate repeat business, winning new work and developing business opportunities.
• Manage commercial aspects of commissions including governance, fee management.
• Prepare fee proposals and bid submissions

• Active involvement on several projects as a Lead Quantity Surveyor or NEC Project Manager
• Established knowledge and understanding of the component parts of a project and overall project management techniques
• Knowledge of a range of procurement options
• Effective review of contracts documents including familiarity with contractual obligations, breaches and remedies.
• Good understanding and appreciation of programme and scheduling software.
• Knowledge of current legal and regulatory developments in respect of construction and associated law.
• Client facing experience, including working with clients on a commission/project basis in conjunction with senior colleagues.
• Understanding of the broader business including having an awareness of the Strategic objectives
