My client is a national M&E contractor with a fantastic reputation in delivering projects to a high standard on every occasion. My client delivers install and refurbishment projects across the commercial / education and residential sectors.

Due to organic growth within the SW region, my client is seeking to employ a Quantity Surveyor to be based in the Bristol office.

Quantity Surveyor - Job role

Submitting detailed and timely Applications for Payment and invoicing
Measuring schedule of rate orders, cataloguing measures of the payment timeline using TAB's
Checking measurements from outsourcing companies and cataloguing measures for payment timelines
Identifying, reviewing and detailing variations, the preparation and submission of detailed prices including supporting documentation for agreement
Preparation of all necessary supporting documentation in support of Final Account submission including negotiating the settlement of the Final Account
Analysing actual costs and future expenditure, highlighting any errors or inconsistencies on a monthly basis
Forecasting estimated value, cost and margin on a monthly basis, reconciling any movements in the month by exception, and reporting on any variances from the tender allowances
Pursuing Notices or Certificates for Payment, and the resultant payments that become due, including retentions
Reporting by exception of any matter or event that is likely to affect the forecast outturn of a project
Having familiarity and an understanding of the particular conditions of contract relating to any project ensuring the Businesses rights are preserved and entitlement is safeguarded where practicable
Processing Subcontract Orders when necessary to meet programme requirements; valuing the work undertaken by Subcontractors and issuing the appropriate Notices and processing payments as necessary
Responsible for the collation, interpretation and disseminating of information to relevant parts of business reporting on WIP and aged debt
Carry out other duties as required, ensuring the business achieves its aims and objectives

Capable of working in a team environment supporting colleagues and providing advise on all commercial matters where necessary
Understanding the customer's requirements and conducting business in a professional manner at all times
Liaise with the clients representative to achieve seamless payment processes

Health & Safety

Ensuring adherence to Health & Safety Policy at all times
Helping create a positive safety culture across the team

Experience & Qualifications

Suitable Quantity Surveying Experience
Good PC skills including advanced Excel is essential for this role
Good analytical skills
Experience within an M&E environment desirable - basic knowledge acceptable
Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Good report writing skills

Full driving licence is essential
