Technical Project Manager - MOD Projects & International Assignments

Location: Bristol

European travel

£60,000 - £65,000 per annum DOE + fantastic benefits

SC Clearance required (must be prepared to undergo a DV Clearance)

Job Description

The objective of the role is to lead a successful team focussing on the design, implementation and support of secure ICT systems, and as such, the role will require candidates with a good ICT technical background and experience of support and systems implementation.

The position requires a minimum of +5years experienced within a similar role preferably working in secure environment such as MOD/GOV. The position also requires experience in managing and running a small engineering team of 10-15 people.

Key Responsibility Areas

This Project Manager role requires someone who has experience of secure environments and security controls, who is organised and flexible in order to improve the effectiveness of the team by providing practical project planning, organisation and management.

In order to lead a successful team focusing on the design, implementation and support of secure ICT systems, the successful candidate requires a good ICT technical background and experience of support and systems implementation.

Key Responsibility Areas

* Delivering technical programmes efficiently - Understanding cost implications, delivery timescales, test management, schedules, reports
* Managing other technical colleagues
* Managing a fixed price project delivery
* Managing solution based projects.
* Conducting Factory acceptance testing
* Troubleshoot and management of project issues
* Be accountable for progress to the various boards

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

* Graduate in IT, Electronic Engineering, Computing or similar
* PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent
* APM
* Experience of working in a UK Government department environment.
* Knowledge of Information Security and Assurance procedures
* Understanding of the system delivery lifecycle and software development lifecycle
* Relevant experience working in a Consultancy organisation, a Programme Management Office/Project Support Office (PMO/PSO) or similar organisation.
* Good understanding of ICT systems
* Managing projects and people
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Prepared to undergo DV Clearance

Personal Attributes

* Proven experience of leading security related projects or initiatives
* Experience of leading projects throughout their life-cycle
* Ability to deliver projects successfully in a demanding environment
* Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Project (2010 and above)
