Our client has over 35 years' experience of creating and supporting specialist financial systems to the global asset finance and banking sectors. Their products have been designed by in-house financial software specialists, utilising their extensive knowledge and long-term experience of working within the financial services industry.

The Job:

Our client is looking for a Team Leader within Testing to lead a team of Test Analysts. Additionally, the role must understand the discipline of testing and must be able to effectively implement a testing process. A further key part of this role is to maintain an effective testing process that supports communication and cost-effective testing across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities will include:

* Assist in defining the quality standards and metrics for measuring release quality.
* Ensure stakeholders are updated with quality measurements per test cycle.
* Ensure all Test Analysts are aware of quality matrix in place and procedure for updating the metrics are followed.
* Create milestones and checkpoints to measure quality over a given period of time.
* Set quality standards for the teams
* Introduce new testing tools and techniques to benefit the quality of the product
* Find and co-ordinate activities that support different testing techniques e.g, functional, non-functional testing
* Plan test activities which enforce quality improvements. eg, test case review, regression testing tasks.
* Identify areas of improvement and construct a proposal to the Test Manager benefits of making changes.
* Review output from the team with regular reports to the Test Manager.
* Arrange regular team meetings to understand current progress and risks.
* Ensure that testing processes are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure a consistency in output.
* Investigate ways to automate daily tasks to speed up the testing process.
* Define high level test plans to ensure quality of a given release meets set criteria.
* Day to day management of team of Test Analysts, to include,

- Holding performance reviews

- Return to work meetings

- Managing annual leave requests

- 1 to 1 meetings

- Reviewing training requirements

The Person:

Minimum of 12 months experience of leading/ managing a team

* Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with a wide range of people
* Strong decision and problem-solving skills
* Ability to motivate a team and make informed decisions
* Maintain and support strong relationships between other departments.
* Encourage positive working relationships with the development team to ensure that any new process can be supported / adapted outside of the Testing Team.

South Gloucestershire, Bristol

The Salary:
