NB Candidates without a UK driving licence or access to a car can not be considered for this particular role*

We have eight vacancies going for highly rewarding support work for a pioneering group of schools in Bristol, Trowbridge and Weston Super Mare.
Interviews will be taking place very soon and we are available to answer any questions you have so do not hesitate to contact us today or ASAP if you are interested!

You will be working predominantly on a 1:1 basis, with some work in small groups. The KS3/4 pupils that you will work with have been identified as children who face social obstacles in life, and often present with challenging behaviour and find education difficult.

No two days will be the same in this role:
A significant part of the what you will support pupils with will be vocational and life skills activities outside of the classroom, that are tailored to their specific needs and interests
Your role would be to support the teacher in the delivery of classroom activities and special education needs interventions
You will also be required to collect children from their own residences (at around 8:30am), drop them home and travel with them to special activities, trips etc

Some pupils will require specialist support, such as specific educational therapies- which will be discussed on a case by case basis

We are looking for:

A patient, resilient and friendly individual with a good sense of humour, who is passionate about equal and excellent education for all- no matter their difficulties in life
Strong interpersonal skills, in order to communicate with families, carers and a multidisciplinary team of teaching staff, social workers and educational psychologists
The self-assurance and reliability that is necessary to form bonds, gain trust and develop a nurturing and consistent relationship with a child who displays challenging behaviour

NB All of our staff have access to Teaching Personnel's fantastic range of continual professional development courses.
