Contract Lawyer - Risk & Compliance

We are searching for a Contract Lawyer to join our Risk & Compliance team on an initial 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience working in a Risk team within a law firm who has experience with claims handling. 

The role is offered on a day rate basis, inside IR35, so we require the contract to be through and Umbrella company. The role will be predominantly remote with some office attendance required, working from our Bristol, Manchester or London offices.

Your Role

As a key addition to our existing team, you can expect to be involved in:

• Assisting the team in claims handling, including liaising with fee earners, insurers, brokers, panel solicitors and other interested parties
• Handling complaints in accordance with the Firms complaint procedures 
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders in relation to risk related issues
• Assisting our Director of Legal and Commercial Risk with strategic and operational issues
• Advising on queries relating to the SRA StaRs, Principles, Codes of Conduct, Law Society of Scotland, Law Society of Northern Ireland and Law Society of Ireland queries and liaising with the regulators as necessary
• Reviewing and updating policy writing as necessary
• Collaborating with colleagues and team members across our office locations

Your Skills & Experience

We are looking for:

• A qualified Solicitor, with 5+ year's PQE, with a background in law firm regulation, solicitors’ PI claims, complaints handling or commercial contract experience
• A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines
• Contribution to our collaborative culture, with an ambition to assist in the development of junior team members
