As Business Resilience Officer you will manage the businesses Operational Resilience Framework, Business Continuity Planning, and Wind Down Planning to ensure the organisation is prepared for, can respond to, and recover from various disruptions, minimising downtime and maintaining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the primary point of contact for Operational Resilience, Business Continuity and Wind Down Planning.
- Carry out the required management of each framework, alongside the relevant business areas.
- Be responsible for the management of the testing and scenario testing schedules for each function.
- Ensure the proper documentation of the testing, including the management of the follow-up actions.
- Carry out the annual self-assessment and reports to present to Board and Committees.
- Participate in reviews of business area solutions, policies and standards.
- Embed and educate Business Resilience throughout the firm, and contribute to building an environment and culture that allows for success.
- Assisting business areas implement the rules and principles of all relevant regulators into policies, procedures and processes.
- Promoting a culture of rigorous thinking and controls to satisfy SBG risk appetite statements and enable sustainable business growth.
- Stay up to date on industry developments through horizon scanning.
- Be able to question and direct stakeholders on governance issues related to Operational Resilience, Business Continuity Planning and Wind Down Planning.
- To undertake other reasonable responsibilities and projects as required to support the First Line Compliance & Risk team.
- Proactively identify, manage and mitigate business risks encountered as part of day to day role.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience of working within a regulated environment - operational resilience and business continuity planning.
- Understanding of the insurance market and relevant products and services.
- Ability to embed Operational Resilience throughout the firm.
- Able to work with autonomy and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, to work outputs at all times
- Ability to handle a high workload in an organised manner and to have an excellent standard within strict deadlines
- Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all business areas
