Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week (Weekend and Bank Holidays)
The pharmacy co-ordinator will be responsible for:
- Joint co-ordination of the BRI inpatient pharmacy.
- Sole co-ordination of Pharmacy Distribution/Medicines Optimisation services.
- The role will be split 50/50 between the two service areas listed above.
Main duties of the job
- Assist the pharmacy manager with the training of all staff, including encouraging and organising attendance on relevant recognised courses (NVQ, Buttercups/Bradford etc).
- Assist with the recruitment of pharmacy staff in line with Trust policies and procedures.
- Ensure appropriate levels of staff cover by being involved in annual leave approval and study leave.
- Responsible for arranging regular destruction of controlled drugs with a representative of the Trust Board in attendance and maintaining monthly CD stock checks.
- Assist the pharmacy manager/operations manager and the pharmacy support services manager with monitoring workload and ensure workload is managed consistently throughout the day by the effective deployment of staff.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with GPhC.
- Accreditation in Final Accuracy Checking and Medicines Optimisation.
- Evidence of continued professional Developement.
Desirable criteria
- In possession of a Management or Leadership qualification.
- A qualified NVQ/TAQA.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Recent NHS hospital pharmacy experience as a pharmacy technician in a range of roles within pharmacy such as medicines dispensing, procurement and supply procedures and practices.
- Understanding of confidentiality and how to apply.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of managing / supervising other pharmacy staff.
- Experience of writing standard operating procedures.
