Are you a problem solver with good electrical or mechanical knowledge? Are you keen to undertake company-funded training to increase your skillset? If so, we have a great opportunity for you to play a key role in the maintenance of our gas to grid sites.
This role would particularly suit an individual who has a time served apprenticeship or someone working at skilled technician or engineer level.
What you'll do
- At Avonmouth and Trowbridge, biogas is produced from wastewater and food waste sludges through anaerobic digestion. This is then passed on to our gas to grid facility where we upgrade the gas to remove CO2, H2S and other impurities to meet strict standards for use in the local gas network.
- The role will be primarily based at our Avonmouth and Trowbridge sites but will require visits to other sites across the region to provide gas expertise.
- As a Maintenance Engineer on the gas to grid plant, you will be responsible for ensuring the continued day-to-day maintenance and operation of our plant and work with the team and on your own to ensure all breakdowns and service work are completed.
- You will be working with a great team in an extremely interesting and varied role encompassing multiple technical disciplines across a range of modern technologies, while also being part of a company that really values its employees.
What you'll need
- We're looking for a qualified mechanical, electrical or gas engineer. It is important that you have effective communication and good problem-solving skills.
- Ideally, you will also have proven experience in gas plant installations and related activities.
- You will need to be comfortable with computers, understand health and safety at work and be able to play a key role in implementing safe systems and processing risk assessments.
- The ability to optimise treatment processes and initiate new operational practices is important to us, and you need to be prepared to work outside of normal hours occasionally to maximise the performance of the plant.
What you'll receive
- Total pension contributions up to 20%.
- Career progression and professional development opportunities.
- 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
- The opportunity to buy up to ten days' holiday and sell up to five every year.
- A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
- Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
- A new electric car in exchange for part of your gross salary, subject to conditions.
- Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
- One paid volunteering day each year.
- Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
- An interactive health and wellbeing platform.
- Support from mental health first aiders.
- A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone to work for us.
