We are seeking a motivated and innovative person to play a key role in our Transport Programme Team within the City Transport service. This pivotal role focuses on the delivery and management of high profile transport programmes that promote sustainable local transport solutions in alignment with both local and regional transport policies.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and managing innovative highway infrastructure programmes to tight timescales and budgets. Your tasks include managing project staff and competing priorities within the service area. You will be required to report against milestones, budget effectively, manage consultants and contractors and ensure you forward plan to mitigate against risks to programme delivery. Additionally, you will prepare and present detailed reports to senior management, funding bodies and council committees, ensuring adherence to all relevant council codes, regulations, and policies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in successful transport programme management.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and supporting others.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets effectively and deliver projects within set timeframes.
  • A strong understanding of local government procedures and legislative frameworks is highly desirable.
