We are looking to recruit a permanent Band 4 coordinator for the Children’s Epilepsy Surgery Service (CESS). There is flexibility with start and finish times, which can be discussed at interview if you wish, and the successfully appointed candidates can consider working to a flexitime arrangement after twelve weeks in post. A mixture of home and office working is available.
We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated individuals to provide effective and efficient coordinator and secretarial services for the Paediatric Neurology Department at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
Main duties of the job
The post holders will have a range of coordinator/secretarial experience, ideally in a hospital environment, though other administration experience will be considered. Working in a busy and sometimes demanding job, within a supportive team, they must be a good team player and enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team. They will need to be able to manage and prioritise their workload appropriately. Applicants should have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. The ability to use their own initiative is essential. The role deals with patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals on the phone, and occasionally face to face, and therefore applicants must have excellent communication skills and will be expected to have a courteous and efficient telephone manner. They need to have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

This includes being educated to GCSE, grade C or above (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, having a qualification in word processing or audio transcription (or equivalent), and having an NVQ at level 3 in Business and Administration (or equivalent experience).
