The School Nursing service is commissioned to deliver the Healthy Child Programme, providing information, support, and access to interventions for school aged children, young people, and their families. The overarching aim of public health services for children (5-19) is to protect and promote the health and wellbeing of children and families by using the i-Thrive approach, information and support informed by the latest evidence and provided at the right time. This service is led by School Nurses and supported by a skill mix team. The service is central to delivering public health outcomes for children.

Community Public Health School Nurses will support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme in Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire, ensuring equitable access for children, young people and families to information and support in their own community that includes schools.
