We are looking for a talented and thoughtful leader who can ensure we support the needs of our families of autistic children and young people.

The Bristol Autism Team (BAT) Family Hub provide courses and support for Bristol families. We are a well-established and highly regarded team within the Education and Skills directorate of Bristol City Council. There are also opportunities to develop and innovate in how we develop our service offer to include further support and training colleagues across social care and voluntary / third sector organisations.

What we are looking for:

You will have the vision and ability to lead the team in supporting the families of some of our autistic children and young people. You will need to be innovative, a great communicator and have extensive knowledge of theory and strategies to support those with high levels of anxiety and a social communication need in a range of contexts. You will have the ability to supervise, and case manage a team.

We welcome experience from a range of professional backgrounds and experiences, which could be from a social care, teaching, third sector / voluntary sector.

We are committed to keeping all the children and families we work with safe. In addition to completed safer recruitment checks and an enhanced DBS all staff will be complete safeguarding training.

This post is eligible for a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (i.e. it involves certain activities in relation to children and/or adults) and is defined as regulated activity under Part 1 of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006. Therefore, a DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity (includes a barred list check) is an essential requirement.
