We are looking to appoint two Project Surveyors to join our Planned Programmes service. The advertised posts will be working within the Cyclical & Planned Maintenance team. Vacancies can arise on other teams within the planned maintenance service, and if successful from this round, you could be considered for future recruitments for a limited period. One position will be within our External Works Team. You will be working within a team that manages delivery of external & communal repairs/painting /refurbishment, roof replacement & window replacement programmes in our domestic properties across Bristol. You will be assessing a properties condition and recording scope of works in a uniform format to provide concise and relevant information and manage contractors(s) to enable works to be carried out.

What will I be doing?
You will ensure works are delivered to a high standard and achieve value for money. You will take ownership for end-to-end delivery, ensuring a satisfactory experience for all residents and stakeholders, ensuring all parties are kept informed, throughout the work by the appropriate medium.
You will be responsible for contract administration and delivery of all technical elements of allocated projects/programmes ensuring, H&S, CDM and other construction regulations, with adherence to BCC, specifications and guidelines.
Contractor management is a core part of this role, ensuring contractors compliance with Key Performance criteria and to ensure we are receiving a high quality, cost effective and customer focussed service from all our suppliers.
You will be responsible for the checking of payment claims ensuring they are correct prior to recommending payment for works and processing invoices.
The role will require regular visits to resident’s homes and sites undergoing refurbishment to carry out quality control and post inspections.
You will need, at times to access scaffolds and ladders as part of their duties and will require an understanding of safe lone working practices.
What do I need to have?
You will require good project management and people skills to deliver maintenance & refurbishment work programmes to the City Council's Housing stock. You will prepare specifications of work with supporting documentation to assist in procuring work using varied procurement frameworks as well as the capacity to use schedule of rates.
You will need proven technical knowledge and qualifications, along with experience in performance managing contractors. You must have strong people management capability, excellent organisational abilities, with great customer care and communication skills.
You will need a full British Driving Licence and have access to a vehicle with business insurance.
