We have an exciting opportunity for a graduate geophysicist to join the SafeGround team in RSK’s Bristol office, with a role predominantly utilising GPR and Electro-magnetic locating (EML) techniques, concentrating on the detection of buried services (electric cables, gas and water pipelines, drainage pipes and telecommunication cables).
The successful candidate will join our Geosciences Early Years Training Scheme. This is an accelerated training programme for Geoscience staff, which is accredited by the Geological Society of London, and designed to feed the best graduates into long-term careers at RSK as professionals. This is your opportunity to start out on the path to chartered status.
As well as on-the-job technical training on commercial projects, we will provide an accredited training pathway to develop technical competencies, plus coordinated learning opportunities in project management, health and safety, and business administration.

Responsibilities:
A graduate utility surveyor is responsible for undertaking surveys using GPR and EML techniques for on-site service avoidance in preparation for intrusive site investigation works under the supervision of one of the SafeGround team. They will also be responsible for working as part of a siteworks team, and be supervised in the training on processing and drafting of utility mapping projects to PAS128 standards. The project works will primarily be based in in the South-West, including South Wales, Cornwall, Devon and Dorset extending up to the West Midlands, however there will be an expectation of the graduate utility surveyor to work throughout the UK when projects demand.
As they progress, they will start seeing the projects through from commencement to completion. Good communication skills are needed, the candidate must work well within a team environment and be self-motivated.
