We are seeking a skilled mechanical engineer to play a key role in our Clients commercial construction projects. From product research to commissioning, you'll collaborate closely with the Technical Projects Director and other team members to drive innovation and deliver top-notch solutions within a highly innovative industry.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Commercial Construction Projects)

Reports To: Technical Projects Director

Main Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities of the Role:

  • Oversee technical design for our Construction Projects, collaborating with internal resources, suppliers, consultants, and clients.
  • Work with sales teams on concept designs and value engineering.
  • Co-ordinate project resources, managing technical design from initiation to completion.
  • Analyze and solve problems, contributing to product testing and evaluations for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and design teams to align project technical design and feasibility.
  • Assist in creating outline design sketches for future developments.
  • Provide input into external CFD modelling for design progression.
  • Write clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, BMS engineers, and technical designers.
  • Uphold the Company's reputation by ensuring the technical operation of live operational construction projects meets the highest standards.

Person Specification:

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (master's preferred).
  • Licensed as a professional engineer.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in the construction sector
  • Superior computer skills, with experience in relevant design software.
  • Some electrical engineering experience beneficial.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.

Additional Information:

  • Occasional unsociable hours and travel, including overseas visits, may be required

Decision Making Authority:

  • Day-to-day decisions on task and workload management.
  • Authority to instruct subcontractor and internal resources to achieve business aims.

This role is office based on the outskirts of Tewkesbury - Mon - Fri 07.30 -17.30 - due to the nature of this role and learning from others within the business this is an office based and site based role (not a hybrid working from home role)
