Local Authorities are a target for fraud and every loss to fraud is taking money away from valuable public services, you could help in the ‘fight against fraud’. If you have a naturally enquiring mind, an eye for detail and are someone who ‘spots when something just doesn’t look right’, this may be the role for you.
This is an interesting and varied role with the potential to work on a variety of different types of fraud work and giving you a wide skill set to move forward in a career in fraud investigation or other investigation work.

The role: This role will support other members of the team specifically the Senior Investigator and investigators and the Counter Fraud Manager and Investigations Manager. The apprentice will be a shared resource working across all aspects of the team’s fraud work.
There may be the occasional requirement to travel for the role but likely within the Bristol boundary.
There will be a need to travel to either London or the Midlands, to complete the qualification.
The qualification will last 24 months plus 6 months to complete the End Point Assessment. The training provider is Intelligencia.
Where this role could lead?
This role will prepare you for a career in counter fraud or other investigation type roles. Whilst we cannot guarantee a permanent role within our own team, as you finalise your apprenticeship, you will be well prepared to apply should a permanent vacancy arise in the team.
Alternatively, this role will provide experience which has relevance to other Local Authority enforcement roles or investigator roles.
Interviews
Interviews will likely take place week commencing 26th August 2024.
Applying for an apprenticeship
To apply for an adult apprenticeship you must be aged 16 years or over, at the start of employment with qualifications in English and Maths. If you do not have these, then you must be prepared to study for the Function Skills Level 2 in both subjects alongside your apprenticeship.
