An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time social care practitioner (BG9) in the Disabled Children Service.
The children and families we work with, will have at least one disabled child. Social care practitioners will work alongside qualified social workers. Their work will include undertaking assessments to tailor packages of support. The role will also identify and address safeguarding concerns with management support.
There will be collaboration with a wide variety of professionals from health, education, and voluntary organizations. In Disabled Children Service we work with children from birth to eighteen and their families. In addition, social care practitioners would undertake direct work with children in order to gain their wishes and feelings and also identify any areas of neglect or abuse. The Disabled Children Service operates city-wide, and we have high standards for our workforce.
Our systemic approach, using Signs of Safety, identifies family strengths, where the aim is to achieve changes in families that will improve the outcomes for the children we work with and their families.
