Weekend Team Member (Christmas Temp)

We are hoping to find someone local to Fishponds however not essential as long as you have impeccable punctuality, please note this will be a Christmas temp role

Previous customer service is essential, if you have worked in food retail or customer service before, it would be a bonus. You will be trained and supervised from the start date.

You won't need any experience in cake decorating as you will be trained and supervised from day one. Experience of working in retail/kitchen could be an advantage.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Greeting and serving customer requests with a smile (bags of energy!)
• Preparing the Store before opening
• Taking daily fridge temperatures and other Safer Food Better Business processes
• Working in conjunction with our other stores to put in daily product orders
• Answering the phone
• Boxing cakes and slices correctly
• Preparing the shop before opening
• Maintaining cleanliness throughout the day
• Keeping a check on the quality of cakes leaving the shop
• Greet and deal with customer’s requests with a smile
• Serve customers and take payments using the cash register and card machine
• Taking cake orders from customers
• Answering the phone/ checking emails and online orders
• Learning how to write messages on cakes
• Working with a team of cake decorators in conjunction with our front of house team members to maintain the Cake Box standards
• Learning new decorating skills alongside experienced decorators
• Learning how to write messages on cakes for customer orders
• End of day Kitchen cleaning with all staff, including mopping the kitchen floor.

Pay rates according to hours:

• 16 - 17 = £6.80
• 18 - 20= £8.70
• 21+ =  £11.50

Saturday 10am-7pm Sunday 11am-6pm, Weekdays also available if and when needed

There may be an opportunity to keep the right candidate on at a later date
