Duty Manager - The Church

The Duty Manager takes full responsibility for a TCA site in the absence of more senior staff. The role demands key decision making, adapting to immediate problems in a professional manner whilst utilising the available counter team. DMs take responsibility for all staff whilst on shift and promote an engaging and proactive workplace. The role will ensure a safe and efficient operation during open hours. This includes keeping the centre clean and tidy, upholding all TCA H&S Policies and Procedures, floor walking, cashing up, managing staff along with promoting a good atmosphere throughout the centre in order to satisfy all our customers. At times they will be expected to provide instruction to groups using the centre.

Role Specific Responsibility

• Ensure smooth operations by managing and assisting counter staff. Take the lead role in training and developing Counter Staff to DM duties.
• Conduct regular floor-walks to ensure customers comply with the conditions of use. Deal with spinning holds, first aid and other incidents immediately.
• Communicate effectively with the Management Team in a professional manner. Ensure counter staff are trained and undertake roles correctly.
• Monitor chalk dust, heat and adjust fans/heaters accordingly. Check the centre is clean and maintain the high standards expected in the centre at all times.
• Understand all aspects of the RGP system to manage the counter effectively.
• Keep food safety records up to date and provide adequate handover information for the next shift.
• Instruct sessions when required or as emergency cover.

The post holder is expected to undertake any other reasonable duties within their capabilities and the scope of the post as specified by their Line Manager.

Hours: Part-time as detailed in contract. Evening and weekend work will be required.
