Earthing Studies (CDEGS / XGSLab) Engineer

Role Description

This is a full-time role for an Earthing Studies (CDEGS / XGSLab) Engineer with 2+ years relevant experience. The position can be based either at our office in Bristol or Bathgate (Scotland). The role is offered on a Hybrid basis with 2-3 days in the office and flexibility for remote work for the right candidate.

The role involves conducting various earthing and lightning studies using advanced software and techniques, using simulation packages such as CDEGS or XGSLab, as well as preparing earthing layout drawings in AutoCAD and carrying out site surveys, soil resistivity tests and fall of potential tests.

There is also the opportunity to move into general power systems analysis like G99 / Grid Code compliance, harmonic studies, protection coordination, and system stability.

Applicants should be UK based, be able to work in the UK without a visa, and have their own car.

Qualifications & Experience 

• Proficiency in CDEGS and XGSLab software
• Experience in earthing system design and analysis for EPR and touch and step voltages
• Knowledge of ENA TS 41-24, ENA S34, BS EN 50522 and IEC 62305 standards
• Familiarity with earthing surveys, soil resistivity surveys and fall of potential tests
• Strong understanding of earthing studies, lightning analysis and earthing layouts
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment
• Own Car and willingness to travel for site surveys.
