Elevate projects are working in partnership with our client, a forward-thinking, values-driven registered social landlord based in Bristol, committed to delivering quality homes and services to communities & striving to create a safe and secure environment for tenants, to appoint an experienced Interim Fire Safety Manager to join their busy Asset Management team.
Role Overview:
You will lead and implement fire safety measures across the housing stock. You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and maintaining a safe living environment for residents. This role is essential in supporting fire safety strategy and working collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and local authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain fire safety policies, procedures, and systems across the housing portfolio.
- Lead the assessment, identification, and mitigation of fire risks in residential properties.
- Oversee the completion of fire risk assessments and ensure they are regularly reviewed and acted upon.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety legislation, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and other relevant regulations.
- Manage and maintain fire safety records and ensure the timely execution of necessary fire safety improvements.
- Provide expert advice and support to the team and external contractors on fire safety matters.
- Lead the development and delivery of fire safety training programs for staff, contractors, and tenants.
- Work closely with the health and safety team to ensure integration of fire safety within overall safety practices.
- Monitor performance and manage fire safety audits to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Significant experience in fire safety management, preferably within the housing or social housing sector.
- A comprehensive understanding of fire safety legislation and best practice, including experience with fire risk assessments.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with staff, contractors, and residents effectively.
- Relevant fire safety qualifications (e.g., Fire Safety Level 4 or equivalent) and membership of professional bodies (e.g., IFSM, IFE) would be advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience in managing fire safety projects and teams.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities within a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to tenant safety and well-being, with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
