About our Graduate programme

Edwards offers a two-year rotational Graduate Development Programme which provides unique opportunities to work in several functions / teams.

Our Clevedon facility is responsible for the design, development, and manufacture of our exhaust gas management systems. Our aim is to ensure that we remain number one supplier of abatement solutions to the Semiconductor, Flat Panel, Solar Cell and LED markets. Our vision is to identify opportunities that are not always visible to others, promoting the creation of collaborative sustainable solutions designed to meet our customer needs.

We're looking for graduates to join our operations team within Clevedon, half an hour from the vibrant city of Bristol.

The Role

You will be reporting to Lead Buyer / Early Careers Specialist. You will enter the business into the Clevedon facility and will, throughout the course of the graduate scheme, spend time on a series of procurement projects in a range of engineering and other support / non-engineering functions. During each rotation, your day-to-day work will be overseen by a Placement Supervisor who will set goals specific to that placement.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Negotiating stocking agreements with key suppliers to reduce on site inventory
  • Managing £1m+ monthly supplier spends and relationships to ensure we maintain our supply of materials for production
  • Onboarding new suppliers to the business, going to their facility to audit and build relationships.
  • Continuous improvement projects to reduce waste in our systems and processes
  • Working with suppliers to set up reusable stock returns to save the business money and prevent waste.
  • Improving warehouse efficiency through optimising the storage and picking processes
  • Analyse customer demand and provide long term materials plans to ensure we can achieve our production schedule
  • Work directly with our production team to plan the manufacturing process, ensuring smooth and efficient operations to achieve customer commitments.

About you

You are graduate with a minimum 2:1 Bachelor's degree within a Procurement, Business, Manufacturing or Engineering discipline. You'll demonstrate our core values of commitment, interaction, and innovation in everything you do. You have ambition, vision, enthusiasm and the desire to keep on developing your knowledge
