Elementa is recruiting for a Maths Teacher in a specialist provision for students aged 14-16, that don't engage well in mainstream settings for a number of reasons. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with diverse learning needs. Whilst the role of a teacher is to educate, part of the requirements within this role is to support and re-engage learners in education, and with their wellbeing, helping them overcome boundaries and achieve success, that may otherwise struggle to realise. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality mathematics education tailored to the individual needs of students. You will be responsible for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, where every student feels valued and motivated to achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to meet the diverse needs of SEND students.
- Collaborate with support staff and other teachers to provide a holistic learning experience.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies as necessary to ensure effective learning outcomes.
- Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Work closely with parents and guardians to support student development.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
- Experience teaching Maths, particularly to students with SEND.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to various learning styles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
