The role
As a Systems Architect, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be exploring the model-based system engineering and providing expertise information for our expanding team.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for defining and developing our emerging Model Based Systems Engineering capability. You will also be reporting to the Systems Lead, and with the support of Babcock’s System Engineering Discipline, you will lead a small team of System Engineers.
- Establish a Model Based Systems Engineering approach compatible with Babcock’s operations Selecting the relevant architecture tools and modelling best practice within the programme.
- Own the architecture for the Weapons Handling Loading System.
- Collaboratively develop a system model with technical stakeholders to represent the design and identify conflicts and voids.
- Utilise the model to support the requirements lifecycle, including the development of system requirements, subsystem requirements, test and integration activity, and Validation and Verification.
- Utilise the model to support the design lifecycle, including engineering milestone reviews and configuration management.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office/onsite and days working from home.
Essential experience of the Systems Architect
- Experience implementing new technologies in the workplace, with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A proven System Engineering background with exposure to the engineering design lifecycle, particularly for narrow-market waterfall acquisition projects.
- Experience implementing Model Based Systems Engineering solutions on complex projects.
Qualifications for the Systems Architect
- Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Able to attain or already a Chartered Engineer.
Security Clearance
- The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) for this role.
